As part of the College of Charleston’s senior Capstone leadership course, each student completed a qualitative research project on leadership topics. I chose to explore how leaders navigate uncertainty. Over the course of a year, my class of 22 students each conducted three in-depth interviews with the same leader, producing a rich dataset of 66 interviews. For my project, I analyzed this collective data alongside my own interviews to identify four defining traits of trailblazing leadership: resilience, adaptability, courage, and creativity. This experience deepened my skills in research design, interviewing, thematic analysis, strategic messaging, and storytelling, culminating in a published article sharing key insights from the project.
As part of my internship at Trident United Way with the Communications & Marketing team, I curated In the News, a weekly internal news briefs compiled by scanning media coverage for relevant headlines, partner updates, and sector trends. These briefs helped staff stay informed and aligned in their conversations with donors, partners, and the broader community.
